Fanø has 15 km of unbroken sandy beaches. In the middle of the island lies the activity area, with surfing, kite buggying and kite-flying. At the southern end, you might see hundreds of seals basking in the sun. Fanø has a maritime history dating back to the mid-18th century. As a result, the maritime villages of Sønderho and Nordby can boast beautiful old cottages, museums and a unique cultural tradition. Local food producers and restaurants have made Fanø the west coast centre for gourmet tastes.
