Experiences on Fanø

Fanø is the only island on Jutland's west coast with a ferry connection. The crossing from mainland Esbjerg only takes 12 minutes, and the two ferries Menja and Fenja depart every 20 minutes. As soon as you set foot aboard one of the iconic ferries, you feel the peace and quiet set in.

The vast majority of Fanø is pure nature, all of which is part of the Wadden Sea National Park. So even during the busiest time in the summer, you will have no problem getting around or even finding secluded parts of the beautiful island. Experience the amazing bird and animal life with seals, deer and rabbits.
The two historical maritime villages of Nordby and Sønderho exude an incredible atmosphere and captivating nostalgia. This is also where you will find most of the island's lovely shops, talented local artisans, great restaurants and cafes.
